Mukamunya Club Origins

InsideMukaMunya was developed as a gated community estate in a park setting on the Leopards Hill Road, comprising 64 one hectare plots and an amenities area with clubhouse, sporting facilities, and the famous Monkey Pools. The construction of the estate began in 2007. All of the plots have been sold. The project has experienced delays but it is now in the final stages of completion. The management of the estate including the security and the upkeep of the common facilities is vested in the MukaMunya Homeowners Association (“MHOA”), a non profit Association governed by its Constitution and registered under the Societies Act. The MHOA is managed by an Executive Committee elected annually by the homeowner members.

At its 2nd AGM held on the 5 April 2014, the MHOA decided to create MukaMunya Club, a division of the MHOA , for the purpose of improving and organising the facilities and activities at the common amenities areas situated at Monkey Pools. To allow others to enjoy the sporting facilities and the unique riverine setting and beauty of Monkey Pools it was decided to offer outside memberships in the MukaMunya Club.

There are two classes of membership:

•  Homeowner members with full voting rights and authority over the running of the entire estate including the Club

•  Outside members either residents or non- residents who do not have any voting rights but who would have full access to the Clubhouse lounge and bar, the common facilities, and to the sporting and other activities that would be offered by the Club.

The Clubhouse is situated at the higher end of the Monkey Pools area with views of the park and the riverine areas of Monkey Pools. It is furnished to a high standard comprising a bar and restaurant section and a members lounge, The Clubhouse is the focal point for indoor and evening activities as well as being a comfortable place to meet friends or to read and relax.

Squash Courts:
A single squash court is available and there will be a booking system in place to ensure availability to members.

Tennis Courts:
Two grass tennis courts are available and there will be a booking system in place to ensure availability to members.

Swimming is available in either the 25 meter swimming pool or at the designated area in the lower section of the Monkey Pools. Because of the need to maintain the unique but fragile ecology of the river, swimming will be prohibited in most areas of the river, except for the designated area.

Hiking and jogging trails are being developed along the river and in the wooded areas of the estate.

There is a gym adjacent to the swimming pool with changing rooms and showers. We intend to fit the Gym with a range of machines and weights. The gym will also be used for yoga and pilates classes.

Other Activities:
Bridge Night · Whiskey Bar · Sunday Lunch
